Don't miss these two books, they are so much fun, and hold up superbly - my sons have read and re-read these as well.

Sequel to Half Past Human, and it's about half as good as the first one. Still not bad though
Glad to see this classic in e-book form. This and its prequel _Half Past Human_ are excellent examples of 70s science fiction and highly recommended for readers interested in the literary evolution of cyber- and bio-punk.
Read this as a teen and it is still relevant. In fact, with the way things are going in the world, this book is even more relevant than when it first went into print.
iIt is an excellent SciFi book, I loved It. Is a trip in the time to a semi apocalyptic world with a handicapped hemi-human and with a mix of biotech, genetic manipulation, GMO humans and marine life. But there is hope, because Rorqual Maru is woking in the sea depleted of life to produce new life and the genes of Larry Dever still are with us to produce new (but old) mankind. Read the book is excellent, I have versions in english and spanish but I still don't found the version read the first time at 1986, so I am look for yet.
The ideas in this book are thought provoking, and the story itself is a fun read. It's the rare book that combines a fun read with this much "bigthink" Blood Music by Greg Bear and Snow Crash are two that come to mind. While it may not be of quite the stature as those books, it makes no sense to me that this book should be so relatively unknown when it's of such high quality in both the clarity of the author's thought & the quality of his writing. A very recommended read for sci-fi fans.
This novel is the loose sequel to "Half Past Human" you don't need to read the first book to understand this one but I recommend it because it's just a great book.
The Godwhale is in the cream of the science fiction genre. The ideas and concepts explored here have lasting impact and really get the reader thinking long after you've finished reading the novel. I especially liked how the author dealt with the idea of overpopulation and what sort of society might evolve in response to it.
If you like your science fiction with some real meat in it then this book is for you.
This is a companion to "Half Past Human" which is my favorite book ever. This runs a close second. I have read both of them many times and the only problem I have with them is I can't tell which comes first. It really doesn't matter because they are both great.
