The story is only 2 weeks long and prepares for other books which shall follow this one.
What to say ? Well, the characters are as good as supposedly immortals can be, but the story is gripping and well told. The locations, mostly in Spain are different from normal settings which could be in he USA and that makes for a refreshing change. Highly reccommended.

I loved both the books in "A Saga of the Ancient Family" and I can't wait for the next one. The books have an interesting premise, and interesting and well defined characters that I liked and cared about. I especially enjoyed all the changes in settings - different historical and pre-historical periods, different locations and different identities. A little archaeology, a tiny bit of genetics, Vikings and the last Ice Age. Thank you, Ms. Sáenz!
I am a big fan of Iago but he seems not really the one I loved in book 1, lost his cool a little and it is lack of interaction between Adriana and him (they don't even really talk!), though maybe its part of the story line but what you felt between them in book 1 seems missing. And to me it is too much "past" in the first half, I do agree all the information is essential coz that explained a lot in the end but the balance between now and the past was made better in book 1 from my POV.
Also this time Eva keep push the story moving but not really able to make me understand nor know about Gunnarr, last time she did a fantastic job on every Ancient family member and Adriana but this time Gunnarr is rather flat to me. All I got is he is real smart but that's it, I would really want to know him better in book 3 (I dont even know he looks alike Iago or totally different except his eye colour)
After all I still highly recommend The Ancient Family saga to everyone, its hard to find another book to compare with it!
So there are some grammatical errors in the translation edition of the sons of Adam, but that shouldn't dissuade a fan of the first book. The book goes on an intriguing ride from the devastating ice age to the first settlers of America, to the last moments of Pompeii to the age of Vikings. It is an intricate web full of fury, revenge, and, most of all, love. I highly recommend this book, grammatical errors and all, but the errors aren't as in your face and completely indecipherable as some may think, so give the book a chance, it will definitely have you wanting to read the next book as soon as it comes out!
I have enjoyed this book just as much as Isis the immortal Collection. I appreciAte the author' s precise, detailed narrative, the clean,crisp dialogue. The use of p arallel lines of character experience to unfold the story. I hope with all my heart she continues her HIGH quality of story delivery. I hope she never never disrespects her readers and never uses cheap tricks like "stretching" a story to sell more.books. I am sad when a writer does those things. then I stop reading those kinds of writers and never recommend that to other readers I know.
I have to agree with the other reviewers--it would be a 5 star book for the story but the translation and/or editing was a problem that impeded my enjoyment of the story. Every grammatical error and incorrect word choice pulls the reader's attention out of the fictional world the author has carefully created. I wish there was a way readers could flag these errors and feed them back for correction. As a new author, every review is important and it is a shame to drag the average star rating down based on grammar problems. Having said that, the story was an enjoyable continuation of the series, providing more insight into the characters from the first installment and introducing interesting new characters. I look forward to the third book!
I flew through this book. Loved the characters and the plot line zags and zags that I wasn’t expecting. I look forward to the next book in this series!!

If you liked A Discovery of Witches trilogy by Deborah Harkness, I think you would enjoy this series.
I had thoroughly enjoyed The Immortals and so was very pleased to find the continuation of the first part of the story. It is well done but there are times when characters speak in language inappropriate or too casual for the times involved. I think that perhaps this may be a translation issue but once in a while, better editing and fact checking would have helped. I love the overall story line and can't wait for the next in the series! It is an interesting concept for a book and I really enjoyed it.
